Busy weekend ahead


FInlay Motor Group have a busy weekend ahead of us at events in Co.Kildare.We pride ourselves on being a local business and we love supporting other local business’s and organizations. Giving something back to the local community is very important to us. This weekend we are supporting two different community events in the county.

Éire_Óg-CorrachoillThe first event this evening is for Eire Og Corrachaill hurling club. This is a local hurling club and they are holding a night in Newbridge greyhound stadium to try and raise funds for the club.

athgarvan gaaThe second event is in aid of a school and Gaa club and they are holding a ‘Who wants to be a Thousandaire’ in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge. This event  is to raise much needed funds for both Athgarvan GAA and Schoil Bhride.

William Clay Ford Jr. or more commonly known as Bill Ford is the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company. Bill is great grandson of Henry Ford – founder of Ford Motor Company.

Bill spoke earlier today at the 2015 Web Summit in Dublin and it was one of the highlights of the day. Bill spoke of the change which is happening in the motor industry thanks to technology. He mentioned numerous times that all business’s including Ford should only exist to make peoples lives better.

Speaking on how a company succeeds in business today he mentioned that a company which will emerge as winner in such an era will be the one which can stitch all aspects of a business together while ensuring peoples lives are made easier.

Ford announced earlier this year of the launch of the New ford Mustang. It has been the talk of the car world ever since and the long anticipated wait was over for the lucky staff of Finlay Motor Group last week.

The New Ford Mustang was a surprise guest at Ford’s 2016 launch in Carton House Co. Kildare. The iconic car was welcomed to a very excited room full of surprised onlookers from dealerships around the country. The Mustang was the talk of the day and getting to get up close and personal to the new cutting edge design was by far the highlight of the event.

Finlay Motor Group on charity cycle

Mike cycles across Spain on charity cycle for Peter McVerry trust

Mike Finlay of Finlay Motor Group recently spent a week cycling across Spain for charity . The cycle was in aid of The Peter McVerry Trust and Dublin Chamber of Commerce were the organisers of the event. The Peter McVerry Trust was established in 1983 in a bid to tackle homelessness, drug misuse and social disadvantage.  Since being established it has supported thousands of young people in Dublin. It is events and fundraisers like this one which allows charities continue with their work.

This event was a 721km cycle done over a five day period with a total of 30 participants. Mike was one of the participants and was spotted somewhere between San Sebastian and Barcelona sporting the Naas Cycling Club kit. Finlay Motor Group are proud and continuous sponsors of Naas Cycling Club, and both Mike and Finlay Motors are proud to be associated with a local club. Ford Announce New Brand Ambassador

Karen Koster proudly announced as Ford Ambassador


New mum Karen Koster is proudly announced by Ford Ireland as the new brand ambassador. Karen is a TV presenter, best known in recent years for being one of TV3’s Xpose presenters.

Karen took delivery of the new Ford Kuga Titanium as her new family car. She comments below on the aspects which are important to her in a car and why the Kuga is ideal for her.

Wicklow Peaks Event a Huge Success

Over 300 Cyclists Raise Funds For Down Syndrome Kildare.

The Naas Cycling Club Wicklow / Peaks event was held on Sunday the 28th of June. The event was organised in conjunction with NCC’s main sponsor Finlay Motor Group. There were 2 routes to choose from on the day, a 100k and 125k and over 300 cyclists took part in the event. Both routes started and finished at Finlay Motor Group’s Naas showrooms where excellent facilities and refreshments were provided.IMG_2569

As an added incentive for cyclists Finlay Motor Group held a draw on the day for a TREK racing bike valued at €800. There was huge interest in the draw with almost every participant entering. The lucky winner was Mr David Moore from Ballymore Eustace, happy cycling David.IMG_2561

Wicklow Peaks Challenge

On the 28th of June Naas Cycling Club will host this years Wicklow Peaks Challenge. There are two routes this year (100K and 125k) and both start from Finlay Motor Group showrooms in Naas. Excellent facilities will be available and participants will be entered into a draw to win a new racing bike sponsored by Finlay Motor Group

Finlay Ford imageFinlay’s of Newbridge have closed the doors of their Newbridge showrooms for the last time in 43 years last week. After a phased move to their new premises in Newhall Naas, Finlay’s moved the last remaining staff and stock into the Naas dealership on 13th March.

The new Car Dealership in Newhall, Naas (beside Merlin auctions) was opened in May 2008. It is one of the largest car dealership facilities in Ireland and is ideally situated beside exit 10 of the M7 with easy access from Newbridge and Naas. The dealership is home to Finlay’s Ford Cars ,Volvo Cars and Equi-trek horseboxes franchises. The move will now bring the entire motor business back under one roof.
